I am a women’s studies major at Colby College. I enjoy immersing myself in culture inside and outside of the classroom. I am the former President of SOBHU (Students Organized for Black and Hispanic Unity) and the former host and current fan favorite at Poets Rest at Dawn, the local student run poetry slam program. I also enjoy using the pen as my sword at Poweredbygirl.ning.com <http://poweredbygirl.ning.com/>  and I am contributing editor at Glitter Magazine- For girls that rock! I enjoy the power of words to motivate the masses!

With the New Year upon us, I have been thinking of how I can have a much sexier 2011. I’ll start with changing the definition of sexy.

Sexy is turning my can’ts into cans and my dreams into plans.
Sexy is wearing what makes me feel good, not what grabs the most attention.
Sexy is supporting my friends and anyone that I can help.
Sexy is saying what I mean and never letting anyone (including myself) stifle me.
Sexy is every quirk in my personality and every pore in my body.
Sexy is the stretch marks I have on my knees.
Sexy is playing in the rain instead of running from it.
Sexy is wearing jeans that fit, not ones that cut off my circulation.
Sexy is watching trashy TV with the ability to enjoy it and critique it at the same time.
My high GPA is sexy, so is the way I drool on my pillow.
My mismatched socks are sexy as hell!
Sexy is wearing pants to formal dances and leaving early because I want to study.
Sexy is being healthy.
Having an education is the sexiest thing in the world.
Speaking up in class is so sexy.
Dancing with no rhythm just to have fun is soooo hot.

How do you define sexy?
